The Inbetweeners: Good Luck with the rest of your lives

Intro The original series of The Inbetweeners (2008-2010), written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris was extremely popular with the youth of the UK and the rest of the world. This show, to the naked eye comes across as a simple, possibly just as a silly sit-down comedy, this is shown in early reviews from critics such as Simmy Richman (2010). However, from an analytical view point it is clear the The Inbetweeners speaks volumes in relation to ideology and canon. The success of the show is evident in the fact that it has been developed into 2 feature length films and sent over seas to the USA for a remake of the TV series, despite it only airing for one season. “An organisation of opinions, attitudes and values- a way of thinking about man and society” (Adorno,et al.1950:2) is just one definition of ideology.
